West Coyote Hills can be saved as a state, county/regional, or city park. It will be a nearly 600 acre recreational area in an underserved area. There will be miles of trails for hiking, biking, and riding with access from all adjacent cities. The former oil operation service roads can be maintained as hiking trails. Beautiful vista points in the park will offer views from the mountains to the ocean.
The West Coyote Hills nature preserve will be an educational resource for the community. Students will not have to go on far away field trips to learn about nature and wildlife. Universities can use the nature preserve for field studies. Volunteer docents can provide the support for these activities.
Left undisturbed and with a little help from us, the natural habitat of West Coyote Hills can recover and be restored to ensure the survival of its ecosystem.
