Dear City Council Members:
West Coyote Hills is a treasure that must be preserved. The proposed development plan will only create a buffer zone for the owners of the proposed million dollar units, not a nature park for families to use for recreation. As a result there will be more traffic and pollution in areas that are already congested, more crowding in our schools, and little added sales tax revenue since the La Habra shops are more convenient to the site.
Development will destroy the integrity of the site, its plant and animal communities, and therefore, any hope of having a natural educational and recreational area for the people of Fullerton and other communities to enjoy. Most of all, it is the only remaining natural site in overdeveloped northern Orange County. South Orange County has many native parklands. This is our last chance to have one. We deserve our fair share.
There is overwhelming support for preserving all of West Coyote Hills. I am asking each city council member to work with the land owners, neighboring city governments, and state and private agencies to craft a plan to save all of West Coyote Hills for current residents and future generations.
Residents want all 510 acres to be set aside as a park and preserve. We are looking to you, our elected city council, to make this a reality.
Sincerely,
