During the afternoon session, Councilman Mike Clesceri announced he had formed a ``Coyote Hills Think Tank'' to seek development options for the Chevron property in the West Coyote Hills.
The first meeting will be held June 2. Committee members include Councilman Shawn Nelson, Fullerton School District Trustee Minard Duncan, Bruce Whitaker (representing Supervisor Chris Norby) and representatives from the Friends of Coyote Hills and the state Fish and Game and Parks and Recreation agencies.
Clesceri said he had also contacted U.S. Representative Ed Royce, state Sen. Dick Ackerman and U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez to look into federal, state, county and city funds that might be available.
``We understand the people want to save the entire parcel, but it's a private company so we want to find the funding to purchase the land,'' Clesceri said.
