Coyote Hills News!
Important City Council Election This November
We won the first battle with a 3-2 council decision to preserve Coyote Hills. The second battle will be in the upcoming November Fullerton City Council election. Voters can choose two candidates to fill two open 4-year-term seats and one candidate for the 2-year position. Voting for pro-Coyote Hills council candidates are also votes to preserve Coyote Hills rather than develop it with hundreds of new houses. The newly elected Council will likely face a Chevron request to rezone and build on the 100-year-old oil property. Chevron obviously wants you to elect council members whom will approve their giant housing and strip mall plans for the Coyote Hills.
Ask all candidates what their position is on saving versus developing Coyote Hills. Please talk up the consequences of losing Coyote Hills to development with your friends and neighbors. Destroying Coyote Hills will be a big loss not only for Fullerton but some 400,000 residents in nearby cities! All of us will face thousands more cars per day, pay increased water costs to support the hundreds of new houses, and watch as classrooms become more crowded from the lack of school space.
Do not let the future be full of regret over wasting a key opportunity to save the last large natural open space in North Orange County. Be sure to promote saving Coyote Hills with fellow voters by using the ballot box this November! VOTE!
