Update on Measure W, Post-Election
Although the City Council accepted the results of the vote on 12/4/12, they stopped short of any further action such as terminating the Development Agreement and overturning other development approvals as called for by the Development Agreement and other development approval ordinances. They state that the development has been stopped with no specific information on the status of the development approval ordinances we mentioned below. In the meanwhile, Chevron has brought back their lawsuit against the City which they used to coerce the city to approve their development proposal in 2011. This lawsuit has been “stayed” for 90 days till May 2013 so that presumably the City and Chevron can work on a “resolution”.
