Nature Walks are back!

After over a year of no guided nature walks, the Friends of Coyote Hills are pleased to resume the monthly walks in person. Our next walk will be on September 11th at 9am (details below).

As summer comes around one hears the songs and calls of a multitude of nesting birds like the Bewick’s Wrens, song sparrows, orange-crowned warblers, and goldfinches. The rare California gnatcatchers call out in the early mornings, while at dusk brush rabbits come out to forage and the coyotes sing in celebration of the new season.

It’s a moderately easy 2 to 2 1/2 mile hike (with some uphill climbing) suitable for the entire family.  It is a wonderful time to enjoy a walk in the West Coyote Hills – breathe in fresh air, soak up the sunshine and be out-of-doors.  Doggies are welcome as long as they are on a leash.

We meet (on the second Saturday of the month at 9am) at the open-gate entrance to the Equestrian Center of Laguna Lake Park, on Lakeview just east of Euclid in Fullerton. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water to drink.
