Please join us for an enjoyable Nature Walk along the trails of West Coyote Hills.  In Fall and Winter, buckwheat flowers dry to a rusty brown-red.  And if provided with enough early morning dew and longer cool nights, many native plants begin sprouting new growth.  Many different bird species migrate south through here; some stay and some continue to their wintering grounds. And we always have the rare opportunity to hear or see a threatened bird, the California Gnatcatcher, which lives here year ’round.  On clear days the views of Orange County and local mountains are spectacular and picture-worthy.

It’s a moderately easy 2 to 2 1/2 mile hike (with some uphill climbing) suitable for the entire family.  It is a wonderful time to enjoy a walk in the West Coyote Hills – breathe in fresh air, soak up the sunshine and be out-of-doors.  Doggies are welcome as long as they are on a leash.

We meet at the open-gate entrance to the Equestrian Center of Laguna Lake Park, on Lakeview just east of Euclid in Fullerton. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water to drink.
